Welcome to EastTown Dreams District,

we are a community based (501c3) non-profit organization organized to encourage and empower the residents and businesses of the EastTown neighborhood in Joplin, MO.  Helping others achieve their dreams will help us to achieve our dream of seeing this community rejuvenated into a thriving community that it once was.

We will achieve this by sharing resources, promoting economic development and holding events that inspire community social interaction

We are so thankful Betty J. Smith is sharing her knowledge and experiences with our organization. Betty J. Smith is EastTowns historic storyteller. From end to end her preservation of materials and memories help us understand EastTowns rich history. EastTown Dreams District partners with the local branch of the NAACP and the Emancipation Committee to sponsor the annual celebration of Juneteenth  in Joplin, MO. The purpose of the Juneteenth events is to educate our community on the history of June 19th and the historical contributions made by Black pioneers. Juneteenth festivities celebrate our cultural similarities and differences, inspiring conversation, understanding and appreciation in a welcoming atmosphere. OUR HOPE IS that these conversations will help us continue the Traditions established by the residents of this great neighborhood in years past and community members who are now securing a better future for the EastTown District of Joplin, MO.
